President Obama has released the official copy of his birth certificate, which proves that he was born in August 4th, 1961 in Honolulu, Hawaii and is a United States citizen. President Barack Obama said Wednesday he was bemused over conspiracy theories over his birthplace, and said the media's obsession with the "sideshow" issue was a distraction in a "serious time." "We don't have time for this kind of silliness," Obama said, adding that he was puzzled that the controversy fanned by conservative pundits and some of his political foes had rumbled on for two-and-a-half years.
"I know that there is going to be a segment of people for which no matter what we put out, this issue will not be put to rest," Obama said. "But I am speaking for the vast majority of the American people as well as for the press.
The document released by the White House differs from the one that Obama's aides made public during the 2008 presidential campaign and includes details on the hospital where Persident Obama was born, the time, date, and detailed information about his parents. The White House said they decided to release the birth certificate to put the conspiracy theories surrounding President Obama’s birth to rest.
Trump told reporters, his helicopter sitting behind him at the Portsmouth airport", "I am really honored, frankly, to have played such a big role in hopefully, hopefully, getting rid of this issue".
